Charleston, SC, April 4, 2007 - South Carolina area moms, dads, and family members can meet their in utero miracles up close and personal beginning April 19th, 2007 in Charleston when Moms, Monkeys, and Mermaids 3D/4D Ultrasound Imaging Center and Boutique officially opens its doors. Moms, Monkeys, and Mermaids is the first ever ultrasound imaging center of its kind in Charleston. Owned and operated by South Carolinian Hope Grimmett, RN, CLNC, Grimmett extends her medical background and ultrasound training to provide an elective ultrasound procedure to new families in a comfortable setting using the state-of-the-art 4D GE Voluson 730® ultrasound machine. The Grand Opening of Moms, Monkeys, and Mermaids, on the Web at www.momsmonkeysandmermaids.com, will occur over three days at its location, 930 Folly Road in Charleston beginning on April 19th.
"The birth of a baby is such a special time in the life of a couple and their families," states Grimmett. "I wanted to create a place where new families could begin forming unbreakable familial bonds upon seeing their little wonders before birth." Scientific studies show that 3D/4D ultrasounds aid in maternal-fetal bond formation much more than the typical 2D ultrasounds do. The 3D/4D imaging performed by Grimmett, a registered nurse who has been specifically trained in the science of 3D/4D ultrasound technology, provides a three-dimensional real time peek into a baby's world. Parents and family members may witness baby's movements, actions, and facial expressions during the ultrasound session. Parents receive a CD with all still images, video clips, and color photos as part of the ultrasound packages offered at Moms, Monkeys, and Mermaids.
Special door prizes and gift baskets valued at over $500 each will be given away during the Grand Opening of Moms, Monkeys, and Mermaids every day of the three-day extravaganza. Potential clients and their families will receive tours of the Imaging Center and Baby Boutique. The Baby Boutique at Moms, Monkeys, and Mermaids offers a wide variety of gifts for new mothers and their babies including baby blankets handcrafted by South Carolinians.
